Join us for Fatherhood in Action Field Day: Play, Move, Grow, a FREE family event made possible with support from the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood.
Saturday, June 13, 2026
1:00 AM–1:30 PM
Settler’s Bluff Picnic Area and Canalway Center (Stateboat Landing Room), Cuyahoga Heights
We will start at Settler’s Bluff Picnic Area with a welcome message about the importance of fathers in children’s lives. Families will receive goodie bags, take part in a scavenger hunt, and enjoy a fun opening game.
At 11:25 AM, we will move to Canalway Center (Stateboat Landing Room) and the surrounding outdoor area for more fun. Families can enjoy field day games, meet Ariel and Captain America, visit community resource tables, explore the nature center, enjoy healthy treats, and more.
Still deciding? Here are five reasons to bring your family!
1. Time with Dad Matters
Spending time with fathers helps children grow and thrive. Shared activities build strong bonds and lasting memories.
When fathers are involved, children often do better with problem-solving, confidence, and handling challenges. They also feel safer and more secure, which helps them explore and learn.
Children benefit from having both parents involved, since moms and dads often connect with kids in different but important ways.
2. Family Time Builds Strong Relationships
When families spend time together, they grow closer. These moments help children feel loved, supported, and important.
Family time also helps parents learn more about their child’s feelings, strengths, and interests. Even simple outings can create strong memories.
3. Outdoor Play Helps Children Grow
Outdoor play is important for healthy child development. It helps children learn, move, and grow.
Activities like games and running around help with thinking skills, social skills, language, and physical health - all while having fun.
4. Connect with Other Parents
Having a strong support system can make parenting easier and less stressful. This event gives parents a chance to meet other caregivers, share experiences, and learn from one another.
5. A Fun, Free, Easy Family Day
This event is free and easy for families. Everything is planned for you - from games to healthy food to community resources - and are ready when you arrive.
You can relax, spend time together, and let the memories build. No planning needed. Just come and enjoy the day together.
We hope you'll join us for a day of play, movement, connection, and celebration. Reserve your spot today!
